How to take measurements for pants, jackets, shirts.

Shoulders: Measure the shoulders by stretching the measuring tape across the back, from the very end of the left shoulder to the end of the right shoulder, keeping the measuring tape taut.

Arms: Measure the sleeve length by stretching the tape measure the point that you used to measure the shoulder over slightly bent elbow, right down to the wrist bone (or start from the hand, depending on how long you want the sleeve of the jacket or shirt to be).

Chest: Use the measuring tape to circle your chest at your natural chestline which is located right where your nipples are.

Waist: Use the measuring tape to circle your waist at your natural waistline which is located just above your navel.

Hips: Lower or move aside any clothing that might interfere with the measurement. The hip measurement should be measured on bare skin without any layers, other than a vest. Never take your hip measurement over trousers. Position the tape measure and measure the circumference of the hips.

Pelvis: Place the measuring tape around the pelvis at buttocks height and take the measurement.

Length: Pull up the trousers you are wearing, the measuring tape should measure from the end of the waistband right down to the shoe (again, this depends on the desired length of the trousers).
